Paying for community college

Image
As a community college student in Arizona, I think about the different types of people who attend GCC. From kids straight out of high school. To parents going back to school to get a degree. This is what makes a community college special: the ability for anyone to come and get a degree. In the United states there are 15 states that offer free community college. Arizona is not one of those states. States like North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland, California, and many others. By giving students the ability to extend their education we are benefiting our economy.  Our economy benefits greatly from having more people with degrees. A website called best colleges gives great reasons on how free college helps america. “ We also know widespread degree attainment benefits society as a whole. Because degree-holders earn more, they pay more taxes. They are also less likely to rely on government support such as unemployment benefits, Medicaid, and housing subsidies, to name a few.” (Drozdo...

How media is changing lives

Image
Media brings people together. At the same time the media pulls people away from one another. Being able to connect to people from other nations is something that has never been done before. While looking on social media we are taking away conversations from our peers. The new generation is more worried about how fast you respond to a text than talking face to face. Jobs struggle to get employees off phones during work. All of these problems are new.  Not only is social media changing the way we live daily. Computers are changing everything about the way we run our schools. Students are not writing with pen and paper anymore. Everything is online. The paper’s they write, the assignments they turn in. Even books are in the past. Apps like safari, google, bing are what students use to get information.  Being born in 2004 I have grown up with the media. As I've gotten older, the media has continued to grow.  Media is such a huge part of my everyday life. I wake up, go ...

This has taken bullying to another level. Schools are stuck at what they can do to help students, Since the bullying is not going on at school. Punishing students is something schools are still trying to figure out. Some of the ways schools are stopping cyberbullying are. Monitoring classroom technology. This is one w...

Another app that uses hostages is Tik Tok. Adding a hashtag on a post helps one's account get more views. When posting on Tik Tok I have added #pyf. This hashtag helps my post get more views. Different social media apps have used hashtags to do different things. An article from learn hub talks about twitter and how they have used the hashtag. "Twitter adopted the use of hashtags into its code, turning the concept of hashtag marketing into a viable marketing tactic."(Razo). By using a hashtag on a post twitter can add the post to the target audience. Brands can get their media out to the right people. This has helped brands sell products.
